You guys know that I work like crazy. Now I don’t mean I scurry around like a rat with a sunburn, but I am always going at top speed. I outwork other people in my industry because I’m not afraid to schedule anything at anytime. You can only meet with me after church on Sunday? No problem. Tuesday at 8:00 p.m.? No problem, but I have a call with one of my people working a deal in Honolulu at 9:00. The real secret is that I leverage that time. I am working for me and my company, but I am always looking for more.
Let me give you an example: A few months ago, a business contact I know in South Florida called and invited me to a 3 day seminar going on in Miami. My daughter goes to school in Miami. You see where I’m going? Two types of people will say yes to that invitation, let me show you what the difference is-
Most people- Dinner with my baby! South Beach! Write it off as a business trip!
Top performer – Dinner with my baby! Networking my business on a trip! Sales!
I did spend time with my daughter. We did have a nice weekend. We drove near South Beach, but that was as close as we came. I closed 7 deals based on that seminar because I stayed engaged in it and made sure that my business was making money while I was visiting my little girl.
I did not walk into that seminar to self-promote. I walked in, I listened, I engaged, and I talked plainly about the value my business brings to business owners. No hard sell. Just facts.
The real world is now that you have to leverage time to make time. When you make time, you make money. When I am with my family, I have my business set to run without me. I can make a change on the fly from my phone or my tablet. If your business isn’t working 24/7, I can show you how I do it and how that gives me more time to not sit in the office.
How does that leverage work? When the kids were little, we would get them up super early, spend an extra hour with them, get them some breakfast, then get them off to daycare. They were up early, so they needed to get to bed early. Then we had some time for each other. The office still got the fifty hours it needed, the family got the time they needed. The important thing is that we all need to take something we are already doing (husband, wife, mother, father, business owner) and multiply it to get more out of it.
So how do I do that in my business, with people in 16 different time zones and three continents? Simple. I leverage my time with technology right here … It starts with that leverage that I get from Infusionsoft. I don’t clean my house. In the time it takes for me to clean the house, I can make $4,000. So why not pay somebody to clean it for $100 a week? I just made 3 hours. Yard work? Same argument. Ironing? Ditto. You see? We just made you a whole new day – at least 8 hours to run your business. How much better prepared are you with an 8 hour lead over the competition? To really rip and run, click here for another key to that success.
